WELCOME FRIENDS + NEIGHBORS
Hello!
So glad you found us and thank you for taking a moment to see what the Albertville Royalty Candidate Experience is all about. We are proud of the strong tradition and rich history we have built representing the Friendly City of Albertville right here at home in the STMA community as well as throughout the state and beyond. The opportunity to share that same experience and so much more with you and your family would be an honor. Check out this page for more details and please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions.
While the crowns, sashes, and dresses have historically been what has been associated with programs like ours, we invite you to take a look around, visit with the current court and past royalty, or reach out to learn that a community service based volunteer program like ours is so much more that one may think.
Late each winter a new season begins for the Albertville Royalty Program with the Junior and Senior Candidate Experience which is offered to current 1st grade students as well as those ages 16-19 years old.
While the Candidate Experience Program for some is the gateway to the opportunity to represent Albertville for a year as Miss Albertville, one of up to two Albertville Princesses, or one of up to four Junior Misses/Commodores for others it is an opportunity to make a difference, represent ones community, grow, learn, experience something new, and or connect with others.
Whatever brings you here, we're glad to have you and elated to have the opportunity to share our program with you!

You will be provided with the opportunity to grow in self and in leadership. The opportunity to learn more and develop your resume or college applications further. Not to mention the chance to make new friends, countless memories, and a deeper connection to the city and community you call home.
You will also be presented the opportunity to gain insight into year serving the community of Albertville if selected.
Will I Become Royalty?
Mid way through the candidate experience as you gain insight into the program and what a year of service may look like each young lady will have the opportunity to meet with a selection panel looking to get to know each of the candidate experience participants more personally in an effort to select a team of up to three three seniors to pair with up to four juniors to make up the royal family who will represent Albertville throughout the coming year.
During this meeting each participant will be asked if they are interested, should they be selected, to serve as an Albertville royal family member. Each participant is welcome to opt in or opt out of the selection process at that time or at any point during the candidate experience.
The Candidate Experience ends with the Albertville Friendly City Days Parade and Coronation. Concluding coronation envelopes are opened to reveal who will represent Albertville for the upcoming year.

What Happens? Are Parents Needed?
Those in our Junior Candidate Experience will participate in a majority of the events on their own. While they will need a ride to the event location, often Albertville City Hall, each activity is specifically designed with 1st graders in mind. There are a few events that parents are encouraged to attend which will be shared at our orientation meetings.
Throughout our candidate experience participants will have the chance to meet new people both big and small when they are connected with a senior candidate buddy they share the experience with as well as new little friends who will be participating in the junior candidate experience alongside them.
Each event and activity is created to promote age appropriate growth and confidence. Share the opportunity to learn about our community and helping others and of course have lots of fun along the way!
Throughout the experience parents and families will have a chance to learn more about the program and the opportunity to be part of the coming years group however that is not something that is shared heavily with junior participants throughout the experience giving parents the chance to share and speak on it as they see fit.
Will My Child Become Royalty?
Mid way through the candidate experience as you gain insight into the program and what a year of service may look like parents will have the opportunity to share with program volunteers if they would like their son or daughter to be eligible for selection for one of up to four positions for the coming years royal family. During a "meet and greet" day a selection panel will ask junior participants in groups if this experience sounds fun and something they'd want to do as well.
Each parent or child is welcome to opt in or opt out of the selection process at that time or at any point during the candidate experience previously to festival week.
The Candidate Experience ends with the Albertville Friendly City Days Parade and Coronation. Concluding coronation envelopes are opened to reveal who will represent Albertville for the upcoming year.
